Proxy Aviation Systems Unveils SkyForce Multi-UAV Management System and SkyRaider Optionally Piloted Aircraft

Proxy announces enhanced software management system and new aircraft at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems North America 2006 Show in Orlando

Germantown, Md. August 30, 2006 Proxy Aviation Systems, Inc., a company dedicated to developing fully autonomous, optionally piloted unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), unveiled SkyForce, a Distributed Management System (DMS), and a new aircraft, SkyRaider, at the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International’s (AUVSI) Unmanned Systems North America 2006 (www.auvsi.org) trade show. SkyForce system enables multiple unmanned air vehicles (UAV) to achieve Group Tactical Goals. SkyRaider operates within the SkyForce system and is a powerful, low and medium altitude, multi-payload UAV capable of carrying a variety of external stores.

Interested parties are invited to meet with Proxy executives at the show, August 29-31, 2006 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando with Proxy Aviation exhibiting at booth #717.

SkyForce Distributed Management System (DMS) is used to control multiple unmanned air vehicles (UAV) and to provide communications connectivity to the ground and other assets. SkyForce consists of Proxy’s mission-oriented software system, a primary mission-management ground control station and mobile ground control user terminals. In addition to this ability to manage several aircraft from a single point, SkyForce now enables the planning and execution of Group Tactical Goals.

SkyRaider joins SkyWatcher as the newest member of Proxy Aviation’s complement of UAVs operating under SkyForce DMS. SkyRaider is a fully-autonomous, optionally piloted vehicle (OPV) capable of both manned and unmanned operations. The vehicle is based on a highly engineered composite design, which has been through rigorous load tree analysis and wind tunnel testing, and is fabricated from molded components to ensure precision assembly. SkyRaider is designed for low- and medium- altitude flight and for execution of a wide range of applications such as heavy-payload intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), battle damage assessment (BDA), urban warfare, communications data relay, plus missions requiring the carriage and release of external stores.

By utilizing SkyForce DMS, SkyRaider and SkyWatcher offer advanced capabilities, such as single point management of up to 12 fully autonomous air vehicles and 20 ground stations engaging in concurrent, cooperative flight, performing group tactical goals to meet a wide range of mission requirements. A variety of quick change payloads enable the operators to quickly task the aircraft to obtain vital, real-time information and immediately react as needed.

SkyRaider has a higher useful load and internal volume compared with other UAVs in the mid-range class. The aircrafts 32’ wing span and 4,000 pound gross weight supports heavy payload requirements and enables the vehicle to carry a variety of sensors and external stores. The aircraft comes standard with an FAA certified 260 horsepower AVGAS aircraft engine, and Proxy offers a heavy fuel propulsion option for lower fuel consumption and increased endurance.

Don Ryan, CEO, Proxy Aviation Systems, said,"SkyForce Distributed Management System (DMS) and SkyRaider are the result of listening to our customers’ desires for greater flexibility in the collection and integration of information, coupled with large payload carrying capacity at an affordable price. Having gone through a rigorous design and development process, SkyForce and SkyRaider, currently in flight testing, will be ready for customer demonstration in early 2007."
