SkyWatcher
Versatile Optionally Piloted Aircraft

Proxy Aviation’s SkyWatcher is a versatile, optionally piloted vehicle (OPV), which is capable of both manned and umanned flights to fulfill a wide variety of missions. Based on a modified Velocity platform, SkyWatcher aircraft is designed for medium-endurance, low- and medium- altitude missions; persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) operations; battle damage assessment (BDA); and communications data relay.

SkyWatcher uses an aviation fuel FAA certified 200 HP conventional aircraft engine, and Proxy will offer a heavy fuel propulsion option for lower fuel consumption and increased endurance. Deploying a small fleet of SkyWatcher aircraft offers a cost-effective way to provide ongoing air coverage and surveillance in a defined theatre of operation with lower manpower requirements.

Concurrent, Cooperative Flight

By utilizing Proxy Aviation’s SkyForce Distributed Management System (DMS), SkyWatcher features a number of advanced operational capabilities, including single point management of multiple, fully autonomous aircraft, network-centric cooperative flight in constellation formation, end-user tasking with full coverage of the areas of interest and Automatic Take-Off and Landing (ATOL). This enables users to assign multiple UAV’s to specific tasks, requiring fewer resources and personnel than existing UAVs.

SkyWatcher aircraft is preloaded with a flight plan which can include Group Tactical Goals for extended autonomous missions. Controlled by the SkyForce system, the unique, optionally piloted operation allows for rapid deployment of aircraft in theater or across civil airspace. SkyWatcher’s high level of reliability and survivability are unmatched by any aircraft in the medium altitude, mid-range market today.
